Help & feedback

Pocket Digicam: Y2K CCD Cam · for Android

Something not working, or an idea for a camera? Email trunghieu4121993@gmail.com. Tell us your phone model, your Android version and the app version (in MENU → Settings, at the bottom), and what you tapped before the problem. We usually reply within two working days.

Taking pictures

How do I change cameras?

Swipe the dial on the camera back left or right. The LCD shows the new camera's look live, and the body colour and nameplate change with it.

Why is my photo so small?

That is the point: each camera saves at the file size its era had, for example 640 × 480 on the Flip VGA. With Pocket Digicam Pro, switch on Settings → HD files to save the full-size picture from any camera. On the Flip VGA, Big pixels saves a double-size copy with sharp pixel edges.

How do I change or turn off the date stamp?

Tap DATE on the camera back to switch the stamp on or off. The order (year-month-day, month-day-year or day-month-year) is under MENU → Settings → Date format. With Pro, Custom date prints any date you choose.

How does the flash work?

Tap FLASH to cycle off, auto and on. On the back camera the app fires the phone's torch and adds the on-camera flash look. On the front camera the screen turns white for a moment to light your face.

Can I turn off the shutter sound?

Yes, in MENU → Settings → Shutter sound. In some countries Android always plays the camera click and the app cannot mute it.

The camera preview is black

Another app may be using the camera. Close it and reopen Pocket Digicam. If you refused the camera permission, open Settings → Apps → Pocket Digicam → Permissions and allow Camera.

Photos

Where are my photos?

In your gallery, in the album Pictures/Pocket Digicam. Tap the thumbnail next to the shutter to flip through them in the app, share one or open it in your gallery.

Can I develop a photo I already took?

Yes. Tap the import button on the camera back and choose Choose from your photos. Android's photo picker shares only the photo you pick with the app. The developed copy is saved as a new photo and the original is not changed.

What are the sample photos?

Eight photos come with the app so you can try each camera straight away. They are winners of Wiki Loves Monuments, the Wikimedia community's yearly photo contest, and are shared on Wikimedia Commons under open licences. The authors, licences and links are in MENU → Settings → Photo credits. If you share a copy you developed from one, credit the author and licence, for example "Photo: Preecha.MJ / Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0". The copy's EXIF data carries this credit too.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Every photo is developed on your phone and stays there. See the Privacy Policy.

Pocket Digicam Pro

What does Pro include?

The Kira CCD, DV-99 and Luxe 35 cameras, a custom date stamp, HD files and Pro cameras added in later updates. You can try a Pro camera in the live preview; the upgrade screen appears when you press the shutter.

I bought Pro but it is locked

Make sure the phone is signed in to the Google account that bought it, then open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases. A pending payment unlocks Pro as soon as Google Play confirms it.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Open the Google Play app, go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions and cancel Pocket Digicam Pro. Pro stays on until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Google Play; you can also email us.

Privacy and data

How do I stop usage stats?

Switch off MENU → Settings → Share anonymous usage stats. The app then sends no usage counts or crash reports.

How do I delete my data?

Follow the steps in the Privacy Policy, or email us with the subject "Pocket Digicam data deletion".
