Pocket Digicam, published on Google Play as Pocket Digicam: Y2K CCD Cam (package app.filmode.digicam), is a camera app for Android published by FightTech VN. In short: your photos are developed and stored on your phone, they are never uploaded, and there is no account. The app uses the internet for two things only: anonymous usage counts and crash reports, which you can switch off in Settings, and Google Play for purchases. There are no ads, the app does not use the advertising ID, and we do not sell any data.
What the app does
Pocket Digicam imitates a small point-and-shoot camera from around the year 2000. You pick one of eight invented camera bodies and press the shutter; the app takes the frame from your phone's camera, gives it that camera's colour, file size, JPEG compression, flash and date stamp, and saves the result as a new photo. In photo booth mode one press takes four pictures in a row and prints them together on one strip or grid, saved as a single photo. It can also develop a photo you import, or one of the eight sample photos that come with the app. All of this processing happens on your phone.
Permissions
This is the complete list of permissions in the published app, including the ones added by the Google libraries it uses.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
CAMERA | To show the live preview on the camera's LCD and take pictures. Asked the first time you open the app; if you refuse, the app explains why and offers Android's settings. Frames are processed in memory and only the picture you take is saved. |
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(Android 9 and older only) | To save your photos to Pictures/Pocket Digicam. From Android 10 on, the app saves through Android's media store and needs no storage permission; this permission is not requested at all on those versions. |
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | To send the anonymous usage counts and crash reports described below, and for Google Play Billing. Photos are never sent. |
com.android.vending.BILLING | To offer Pocket Digicam Pro through Google Play Billing. |
WAKE_LOCK | Added by the Firebase libraries so a queued usage or crash report can finish sending. |
BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE | Added by Google Analytics for Firebase to read Google Play's install referrer, which says whether the app was installed from Google Play and from which store campaign, if any. |
DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION | An internal Android permission scoped to this app only. It keeps other apps from sending it system messages and grants no access to your data. |
Not requested: location, microphone, contacts, phone, calendar or notifications, and no permission to read your photo library. Import uses Android's system photo picker, which gives the app only the photo you pick. The advertising-ID and ad-attribution permissions that the analytics library would normally add are removed from the app.
Your photos
- Taking a picture. The preview and the capture are processed on your phone. The finished photo is saved to
Pictures/Pocket Digicamin your phone's gallery. Its EXIF data holds the camera name you used (for example "Mochi 32"), "Pocket Digicam" and the app version, and the date, time and time-zone offset of the shot. It holds no location. - Photo booth. The four frames of a booth session are held in memory only until they are printed onto one picture, which is saved to
Pictures/Pocket Digicamlike any other photo. If you stop a session part-way, the frames taken so far are discarded and nothing is saved. - Importing a photo. You pick a photo in Android's photo picker; the app reads that one photo, develops a copy through the chosen camera and saves it as a new photo. The original is not changed.
- Sample photos. The app includes eight photos to try the cameras on. They are Wiki Loves Monuments winners from Wikimedia Commons, used under CC0 or Creative Commons licences; their authors, licences and Commons pages are listed in the app under MENU → Settings → Photo credits. They are part of the app download, so nothing is fetched to show them. A copy you develop from one carries the author and licence in its EXIF data, so the credit travels with the photo.
- Playback. The in-app viewer shows only the photos Pocket Digicam saved.
- Sharing and opening. Share hands the photo you chose to the app you pick in Android's share sheet, and Open in gallery hands it to your gallery app. What those apps do with it is covered by their own policies.
Your photos, thumbnails and file names are never uploaded to us or to anyone else by Pocket Digicam.
Settings on the phone
The app keeps your choices in its private storage on the phone: the selected camera; photo or booth mode, the booth layout and frame colour; the flash, date and timer settings and which camera is facing (and, in booth mode, which one you had in photo mode); the date format; the custom date; the HD, big-pixel, shutter sound and usage-report switches; and whether Pro is active, as last reported by Google Play. They are not sent anywhere.
Shot history
So you can look back at what you shot and pick the same camera again, the app keeps a history of the pictures it saved. You open it with the history button in the photo viewer or under MENU → Settings → History. It stays on your phone: it is kept in the app's private storage, is left out of Android backup and device transfer, and is never uploaded.
- For each picture it keeps the date and time; which camera you used; whether the picture came from the lens, from the photo booth, from a photo you imported or from a sample photo (and which sample); for a booth print, its layout, frame colour and number of frames; the flash setting and whether it fired, the timer and front or back camera; the date printed on it, if any; whether it was HD; its size in pixels; the link to the saved photo in your gallery; and a small preview of the result (at most 320 pixels on the long edge) so the list shows without opening every photo. It keeps nothing about an imported photo's original file.
- Recent cameras. It counts which cameras you used and when, to offer the most recent ones first.
- It holds the last 500 pictures; older entries drop off by themselves.
To clear it: use the clear button at the top of the history, or Clear history under MENU → Settings → History, or remove a single picture from its page. This deletes the list, its previews and the recent cameras. Your photos stay in Pictures/Pocket Digicam; if you delete a photo from your gallery, its history entry shows it as missing until you remove it. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage also deletes the whole history.
Analytics and crash reports
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google, to learn which features are used and to fix crashes. Both are on by default. Both stop when you switch off Settings → Share anonymous usage stats, and the choice is remembered across launches.
- Usage events. The events listed in the next section, with their parameters. Google Analytics also records some events on its own: first open, session start, engagement time, screen views, app and Android updates, and completed Google Play purchases (with product ID, price and currency). Each event carries the app version, phone model, Android version, language, country and a random app-instance ID that Firebase creates on install. Google derives the country from the connection; Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses.
- Crash reports. When the app crashes, or hits an error it recovers from (a photo that could not be developed or saved), Crashlytics sends the stack trace and the part of the app where it happened; the phone model, Android version, free memory and disk space and orientation; a random Crashlytics installation ID; and the list of app events that led up to it.
- Identifiers. The only identifiers are the random IDs Firebase creates for this installation: the Firebase installation ID, the Analytics app-instance ID and the Crashlytics installation ID. They are not tied to your name, email or Google account, and they reset when you clear the app's data or reinstall it.
What is never sent: your photos or any part of one, thumbnails, file names, anything about a photo you imported (for a bundled sample photo, only its name, such as kyiv_st_andrews_dawn), your custom date, your location, your advertising ID, your name, email or any account identifier.
This data is processed by Google on our behalf under the Firebase privacy and security terms. We use it only to improve and fix the app. It is never used for advertising, never combined with other data to identify you and never sold.

Data we collect
Only the anonymous usage events and crash reports described above. We, FightTech VN, see them as totals and individual crash reports in the Firebase console. We hold no user database, and we never see your photos or your settings. There is no account system and no newsletter. If you email us, we receive what you choose to write and use it only to answer you.
Purchases
Pocket Digicam Pro (the Kira CCD, DV-99 and Luxe 35 cameras, a custom date, HD files, the photo booth grid and colour frames, and future Pro cameras) is sold through Google Play Billing as a monthly or yearly subscription (app.filmode.digicam.pro.monthly, app.filmode.digicam.pro.annual) or a one-time purchase (app.filmode.digicam.pro). Google processes the payment under the Google Privacy Policy; your card details and billing address are never given to us or to the app. As the seller, Google Play Console shows us an order record for each purchase (order ID, product, date, price and country), which we use only for refunds, tax and support, never to identify or contact you. The app checks each purchase on the phone against Google Play's signature for this app and keeps the result locally. It sends nothing about the purchase to us, apart from the anonymous purchase events listed above. Everything outside Pro is free and needs no purchase.
Third parties
No data is sold or shared for advertising. The only other company involved is Google, which runs Firebase (the usage events and crash reports, as our processor) and Google Play Billing (purchases, as described above). Google does not receive your photos from the app. The app contains no ads and no ad SDK.
Android backup
If you use Android's backup or move to a new phone with Android's transfer tool, Android may include Pocket Digicam's settings in a backup stored in your Google account or copied to your new phone. Android and Google do this under your account and its settings; we have no access to it. The shot history and its previews are left out of both. Your photos are in your gallery and are backed up only if your gallery app does so.
Retention and deletion
Your settings and shot history live on the phone and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage; you can also clear the history on its own (see Shot history). Photos you took or imported are yours and stay in Pictures/Pocket Digicam until you delete them.
Firebase Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days. Google Analytics keeps event data for the retention period set in our project, at most 14 months, after which only aggregated totals remain. Switching off Share anonymous usage stats stops any new data. Clearing the app's data or reinstalling it creates new random IDs, so earlier data can no longer be linked to your phone.
To delete your Pocket Digicam data:
- In the app, open MENU → Settings and switch off Share anonymous usage stats, so nothing new is sent.
- Uninstall Pocket Digicam, or clear its storage in Settings → Apps → Pocket Digicam → Storage → Clear storage. This deletes your settings and shot history and resets the random IDs. Delete any photos you no longer want from
Pictures/Pocket Digicamin your gallery. - To have usage events and crash reports that were already sent deleted too, email trunghieu4121993@gmail.com with the subject "Pocket Digicam data deletion". We will delete them from Firebase within 30 days and reply to confirm. Otherwise they are removed automatically after the retention periods above.
To cancel a subscription or ask for a refund, use the Google Play app under Payments & subscriptions. Google Play keeps its own order records under the Google Privacy Policy. We keep nothing else about you.
Security
Usage events and crash reports are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Your settings and shot history sit in the app's private storage, which Android keeps out of reach of other apps. Purchases are checked with Google Play's signature on the phone. No system is perfectly secure, but because your photos never leave the phone, there is no copy of them on any server of ours to leak.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the photos you take and share, including the consent of the people in them and following local rules about photography.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the date above revised before the new version is released. If a future version adds a permission or an SDK, it will be listed here first. Written on September 28, 2026 for version 1.0.0 of Pocket Digicam: Y2K CCD Cam.
