Pocket Digicam for iPhone

Something not working, or an idea for a camera? Email trunghieu4121993@gmail.com. Tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version and the app version (in MENU → Settings, at the bottom), and what you tapped before the problem. We usually reply within two working days.

Taking pictures

How do I change cameras?

Swipe the dial on the camera back left or right, or tap a camera on it. The LCD shows the new camera's look live, and the body colour and nameplate change with it.

Why is my photo so small?

That is the point: each camera saves at the file size its era had, for example 640 × 480 on the Flip VGA. With Pocket Digicam Pro, switch on Settings → HD files to save the full-size picture from any camera. On the Flip VGA, Big pixels saves a double-size copy with sharp pixel edges.

How do I change or turn off the date stamp?

Tap DATE on the camera back to switch the stamp on or off. The order (year-month-day, month-day-year or day-month-year) is under MENU → Settings → Date format. With Pro, Custom date prints any date you choose.

How do the flash, timer and FLIP buttons work?

FLASH cycles off, auto and on and gives the shot that camera's on-camera flash look. TIMER sets a self-timer that beeps before the shot. FLIP switches between the back and front cameras.

Can I turn off the shutter sound?

Yes, in MENU → Settings → Shutter sound. It turns off the click and the self-timer beeps.

The LCD says camera access is off

Tap Open Settings on the LCD, or open the iPhone Settings → Apps → Pocket Digicam, and turn on Camera. You can still develop a photo from your library with the import button while it is off.

Photos

Where are my photos?

Every shot is kept in the app first. Tap the thumbnail next to the shutter to flip through them. To put one in your iPhone's Photos library, open it and tap Save to Photos; to send it somewhere, tap Share.

"Save to Photos" says access is off

The app only asks to add photos, never to read your library. Open the iPhone Settings → Apps → Pocket Digicam → Photos and choose Add Photos Only, then tap Save to Photos again.

Can I develop a photo I already took?

Yes. Tap Develop a photo on the camera back and choose Choose from your photos. Apple's photo picker shares only the photo you pick with the app. The developed copy is kept as a new photo and the original is not changed.

What are the sample photos?

Eight photos come with the app so you can try each camera straight away. They are winners of Wiki Loves Monuments, the Wikimedia community's yearly photo contest, and are shared on Wikimedia Commons under open licences. The authors, licences and links are in MENU → Settings → Photo credits. If you share a copy you developed from one, credit the author and licence, for example "Photo: Preecha.MJ / Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 4.0". The copy's EXIF data carries this credit too.

If I delete a photo in the app, is it gone from Photos too?

No. Deleting removes it from Pocket Digicam only. Copies you saved to Photos stay there until you delete them in the Photos app.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Every photo is developed on your iPhone and stays there. The app collects no data at all; see the Privacy Policy.

Pocket Digicam Pro

What does Pro include?

The Kira CCD, DV-99 and Luxe 35 cameras, a custom date stamp, HD files and Pro cameras added in later updates. You can try a Pro camera in the live preview; the upgrade screen appears when you press the shutter. Mochi 32, Sunny 35, Paper 27, Pop Instant and Flip VGA, the date stamp, flash, self-timer and import are always free, with no ads and no watermark.

Which plans are there?

Pro is sold on the App Store as a yearly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. The Pro screen shows the prices in your currency, including any introductory offer you are eligible for. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them.

I bought Pro but it is locked

Make sure the iPhone uses the Apple Account that bought it, then open the Pro screen and tap Restore Purchases. If a payment is pending (for example Ask to Buy), Pro unlocks as soon as the App Store confirms it.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Open MENU → Settings → Manage subscription, or the iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, and cancel Pocket Digicam Pro at least 24 hours before it renews. Pro stays on until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
